Are you a fan of Cadillac quality? The long of history of high-end luxury and classic comfort made Cadillac a perennial favorite for decades.
Suddenly, however, Cadillac has become hip and popular with today’s trendsetters.
The GM luxury line will take full advantage of this new popularity. In 2020 they’ll launch a lineup of Cadillac vehicles ready to take over the marketplace.
Cadillac is expected to launch five new models during the next year. The brand expects a 100 percent increase in global sales in 2010. It’s safe to say 2020 will be a big year for Cadillac.
Check out these Cadillac vehicles ready to rev up their lineup in 2020.
This is Cadillac’s first compact SUV. It might be small, but it’s loaded with all the luxury, safety and modern features Cadillac can pack into it.
The XT4 SUV has an engine that doesn’t act like it’s in a compact vehicle. It features a 2.0L Turbocharged I4 DOHC engine with Active Fuel Management, direct injection and stop/start technology that produces 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
Its long list of safety features includes:
- Standard driver and passenger airbags
- Front side-impact airbags
- Driver and front passenger knee airbags
- Side-impact head airbags
- Daytime running lights
- Rearview cameras
- Lane departure warning systems
- Blind spot warning systems
- Rear cross-path warning
The SUV offers an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Bose audio. Cadillac also backs up the XT4 with its 4-year/50,000-mile full warranty with 24-hour roadside assistance.
The XT5 is another Cadillac to have a mid-2020 makeover. The midsize luxury crossover will have slight improvements that make big differences.
Expect a wider grille and revised bumpers. The XT5 will offer two trim packages for the grille, one for Premium Luxury and the other for their Sport model.
It’s expected to have an all-new turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY 4-cylinder that makes 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
In China, the XT5 is offered with a mild-hybrid system tied to the turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Cadillac may bring this feature stateside in 2020.
The XT6 is new to the Cadillac lineup in 2020. It fills a significant gap in its fleet. A midsize SUV like the XT5, but with three rows of seats like the Escalade, it’s a big new release.
Larger than the XT5, the XT6 has a 112.7-inch wheelbase. It’s also slightly longer and has three inches of additional clearance for the third row of seats.
It will be available in both front wheel or all-wheel drive. The XT6’s power comes from its 310-hp 3.6-liter V-6 with AFM, stop/start technology and a 9-speed automatic transmission.
With the third row of seats down, there’s significant cargo space for a traveling family of four.
The future of Cadillac sedans is the CT line, specifically the CT5 that premiers in 2020. Cadillac defines the CT5 as a compact luxury sedan. They’re expected to introduce the CT4 down the road as part of the group of new sedans.
The CT5 loaded with features Cadillac thinks will make it the next star sedan. It comes with standard rear-wheel drive, but an all-wheel-drive option will also be available.
The CT5 standard engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Other features include:
- Super-Cruise driver-assist system
- 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels
The CT5 lets the world know its owners are serious about their luxury sedans.
Cadillac CT6 and CT6-V
In the full-size sedan line, Cadillac’s entry is the CT6. The CT6 had a facelift in 2019. Its exterior design, powertrains and in-vehicle technology were improved. So in 2020, the model only features minor tweaks.
Although the CT6 will have limited production in North America, its V8 turbo engine is likely to be in high demand for the limited number produced here. It is expected to be available in limited numbers until January of 2020.
The CT6 will continue to be manufactured in China for the Chinese market.
The Escalade has long been a star in Cadillac’s full-size lineup. Some say this vehicle helped make Cadillac trendy with a new generation of owners.
In 2020, Cadillac will roll out its fifth generation of Escalades with many changes and improvements. Many think the 2020 Escalade will be competitive with its rival, the Lincoln Navigator, for top sales.
The 2020 Escalade will likely be built on the T1XX body-on-frame platform for GM trucks and full-size SUVs. The new Escalade is thought to have shed as much as 300 pounds. An improved rear suspension will improve its ride and handling.
The 2020 Escalade likely will exchange its flashy grille for a more modest mesh-like grille seen in other Cadillac 2020 models. Its expected engine will be a 6.2-liter V8 with Dynamic Fuel Management found in other GM truck lines.
Cadillac Vehicles of 2020
